Tunstall Americas Acquires Lifeline Hawaii Services

Tunstall Healthcare Group has acquired Lifeline Hawaii Services via its US subsidiary, Tunstall Americas. The acquisition expands Tunstall’s leadership role in consolidating the fragmented connected healthcare market by acquiring and partnering with highly regarded regional providers of connected healthcare monitoring services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This acquisition represents Tunstall Americas’ eleventh competitive service conversion since November 2014.

Tunstall Televida is Spain’s leading provider of telecare, monitoring, response and associated services, supporting more than 245,000 people. Working with Canadian-owned pharmaceutical company Apotex, Tunstall Televida has developed Apocare, a healthcare software platform designed for the use in pharmacies.
In this case the pharmacist will always help the users take their health measurements using various devices such as weighing scales, pulse oximeter, thermometer, blood pressure monitor and glucose meter. Data from the devices is automatically transmitted to a secure platform for analysis and reporting, and can be accessed remotely by clinicians with relevant permissions to enable them to manage medical alerts and plan future care. Information is also collected in a comprehensive health status report for
users to take away.

30th November 2015 – Simon Arnold, Chief Customer Officer for Tunstall Healthcare presented a cheque today for £25,000 to The Silver Line, a national charity that helps reduce loneliness in isolated, older people. The donation was accepted on behalf of the charity by President and Founder Dame Esther Rantzen DBE at The Silver Line Helpline National Conference in London.

Case study: Using telecare to avoid residential care admission in Coventry

Mr P is 74 and has had a series of health problems. In 2012 he was found in the garden of his home having had a stroke. As well as affecting his mobility, the stroke caused dysexecutive syndrome, a term for the range of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties which can occur following injury to the brain.
This meant a hospital stay of many months, and at one point it was felt he would need to be discharged to residential care as it wouldn’t be safe for him to return home alone. Mr P and his family were all keen for him to have the opportunity to return to the home he had worked for for many years, and a
social worker from Coventry City Council suggested telecare may help to achieve this.
